Discharging your Zakaah personally to aid Syrian Refugees abroad

July 2016: A team from Gift of the Needy accompanied by a team of South African Businessmen and Ulama were working abroad July 2016 to discharge Zakah to Syrian Refugees. The plight of the Refugees is serious and cannot be ignored in this time of Humanitarian Crisis. Gift of the Needy and its donors have responded by providing a substantial food hamper, family size stove, bed/sofa, cupboard, clothes dryer and a kettle to enable them to live with some modicum of dignity in a foreign land far away from their homes. Majority of the Refugees have lost all their belongings and are wholly dependent on the generosity of sponsors like the ones Gift of the Needy are privileged to be working with. To date a total of 133 families have received material assistance to ease their distress. The team hopes to reach out to as many families as possible to help alleviate their suffering as they face an uncertain future.
